Westside is best

I confess that I have a bias about the best places to fish for steelhead.  My reasons for this preference make sense to me.  Westside Erie tributaries have more fish and more fish-able water.  Finally, I stay at The Green Roof Inn and the motel is minutes away from Elk Creek, Walnut Creek, Trout Run, Godfrey Run and Conneaut Creek.  You may disagree, but like I said Westside suits me.

I trust that this Website and the “west leaning” content is applicable to your favorite tributary.  The techniques, baits and fishing reports can be applied to Eastside water too.

You may prefer Twenty Mile, Sixteen Mile or one of the other “mile tributaries”.  I guess the best place to fish is where the angler feels most comfortable.

If you need help finding your favorite place to steelhead fish, check out this Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission resource.  You can select a tributary then zoom in to locate the parking and public fishing access.  By the way, all stream property not listed here is private.
