Late summer, heavy rainfall gets steelhead anglers anxious for the start of the “run.” Good water flow and falling temperatures are all that is needed to encourage steelhead to begin staging near the tributaries. I guess these anglers feel that, it is never too early to check if a few early season steelhead are gathering at Trout Run.

Next month everyone starts to pay attention to the weather and waves on Lake Erie. An early fall with below average temperatures and above average rainfall may Jumpstart the fall-run.

Here is a preview of stocking data that provides helpful information. We also encourage you to return to this Website on September 1st. FSA will publish the annual steelhead run estimates for all Lake Erie tributaries.
